Blood on the Blackberries
A fictionalised Australian true crime.
Blood on the Blackberries is passionately and sensitively written and is a carefully researched narrative of the criminological, social and familial outcome of two brutal murders in Australia in 1939. This fictionalised true crime is set in the New England district of New South Wales. The victims, two sisters were picking blackberries at the time.
In his summation at the coroner's inquest, Dr A.H. McTaggert stated: "It places this among the most brutal murders in the history of the state."
